Tan Leather Topshop Bag

Really quick post just to show you my lovely new bag! I love bags, especially big ones that you can literally carry half yourt life in! I fell in love with this bag when I actually went to get another bag from Topshop yesterday. The bag is a light tan colour with suede on the sides and front pocket! It's really big and has 3 pockets inside with a big front pocket with little button details! It's not the normal kind of bag I go for, I normally like unusual, quirky bags (my last one was a knitted grey with multi coloured polka dots on it!) But completely fell in love with this one so had to get it, it's super soft leather and is a lot bigger inside than it looks! Completely fallen for this bag - it's £65 and available from Topshop!

Benefit Watts Up

I received this product as a gift from my lovely sister at Christmas and immediately fell in love with it, I'm a big fan of highlighters for that healthy look you get from them. I've always used Benefits High Beam which is another great product and lasts forever. This product is quite different, it comes in stick form with a soft foam applicator on the other end to blend the product in.A little goes a long way with this and one sweep across each cheek I find is plenty, it's very easy to blend in and leaves a really illuminated, glowy look to the skin, if you want to use this in the day though as well, I'd reccomend blending with fingers as well just to tone down the look slightly as it's quite shimmery! I've also been using Real Techniques contour brush to blend this in as well and it works great (review of these brushes up later!) I think this will also be great in the summer with a bit of a tan as it's got some warm golden tones in there. This product sells for around £24.50 and can be bought from Boots or most department stores.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Shimmering Luxe Balm

I had been coveting the Rouge Bunny Rouge Shimmering Luxe Balm for quite a while before it was given to me as a gift! It's definitely more of a balm than a lipstick, but it does give a nice hint of colour, I have the Sip of Pink colour which is slightly sheeny and more on the pinky side with flecks of gold running through, it really leaves lips looking moisturised and dewy! It has been a life saver during the cold snap we had, it also smells amazing, I can't put my finger on exactly what it smells like but it's very sweet smelling with a hint of vanilla. It's quite pricey at £21.00 but it is definitely worth it for the lovely luxurious feeling you get when applying it! I'm not big on wearing lipsticks, (but it is something that I want to branch into - any suggestions?!) but I do love my lip balms, and this is great just for that more ladylike feeling of it being in lipstick form! The packaging is also super cute - I adore this and will definitely be re-purchasing, I know at this price, it's definitely one you have to think "Is this worth it?" but I really do think it is. Love, love, love! You can get this from Zuneta for £21.00 - I'm really looking forward to trying more from Rouge Bunny Rouge after this!

Any recommendations on lipsticks or other Rouge Bunny Rouge products?

Vera Wang Princess Night Perfume

I'm not sure why but I always thought I hated this perfume, I remember smelling it when it first came out and was immediately put off, however, walking through House of Fraser at the weekend, I was handed a sample of this and loved it. I had to go and buy it straight away. I went for the night version, but I also love the original day version as well so I might have to go back and get that one. The night one has a much deeper scent but they are fairly similar, my brother said it smelt like ice cream which isn't far off, it's definitely quite sweet smelling and has a good hint of vanilla, the day version is alot fresher and smells more summery - this is the official description:

Vera Wang Princess Night Eau De Toilette Is a chic, glamorous, floral, exotic, woody fragrance. The Bottle is dipped in dark purple glitter to capture the essence of this princess after dark.

I usually wear Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb, which will always I think be my favourite perfume and gets me compliments where ever I go, but this is really nice just for a bit of a change, when I went onto one website about this, the first thing that popped up was a link to suggest I try Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb which I thought was strange. The bottle for this is gorgeous, it's an almost heart shaped bottle and covered in chunky bits of purple glitter which makes it feel really luxe, the top is in the shape of a crown with little purple diamantes as well - really cute! I love this fragrance! I bought the 30ml version from Boots for £34 (but if you use your advantage card in one of the machines in boots, you can print off a voucher for 250 points when you spend £35 so if you spend a pound extra you get £2.50 worth of points)

Scwarzkopf Bonacure Colour Save Shampoo

This shampoo was recommended to me by an old hairdresser of mine, it's for lightened and silver hair and is absolutely amazing if like me you bleach your hair. The shampoo is a deep violet colour and helps to tone down any yellowy/coppery colours that can happen after colouring hair. It helps to brighten and I suppose give hair more of an ash tone. My sister recently had a nightmare when she coloured her hair and it literally went yellow and orange instead of the golden and white blonde that she was trying to achieve, I recommended this to her (as her hair is really fine and she couldn't colour over it for fear of it dropping out) and it's worked wonders, I wish i'd taken photo's of before and after to show you all! While this didn't completely remove all traces of yellow and orange in her hair, it completely toned it down so she could leave the house without wearing a hat! I use this once a week on my hair to help keep any fading in between getting my hair coloured, I suppose essentially I'd liken this to a mild toner that they use in hairdressers! It really does work though and I get lots of compliments on the colour of my hair when I've used it, I sometimes can forget for a couple of weeks to use this and when I don't, I really do notice, this just brightens my colour up! My old hairdresser suggested putting this on dry hair as well to really give it a lift if you want that white blonde look, I haven't actually ever done this so can't reccomend but I would trust her if you want to give it a go. I use it on wet hair in the shower, get it into a lather and then leave on for a couple of minutes to let it work. The colour is very strong though so don't be put off if the shower turns purple for a few minutes! I buy this from my local Sally's Salon Services for £11.99 (and they sometimes have an offer on for 2 for £11.99) or you can get it from Feel Unique for £8.30 at the minute.

Have you used this, or any of the colour save range?

TIGI Let it Be Cherry Almond Leave-In Conditioner

I want to love this product for all the right reasons, so badly, but the only reason I love it and one of the the only reasons I use it is because of the smell.....it literally smells of bakewell tarts and the smell lingers in your hair throughout the day. However, this is where my love for it kind of ends, it may just be that my hair is quite dry due to using bleach on it and straightening it most days but this product just doesn't really add anything to my hair, I have used lots of other leave in conditioners and oils that make your hair really feel like they've had a treat when you've used them, but this just doesn't hit that spot for me. I do use it occassionally though in addition to my Macademia oil just for the smell, because the smell really is amazing! Having said all this, I did pick this up in TK Maxx for only £3.99 (I think!!) but it normally retails for around £8.95 so if you can find it for that bargainous price anywhere, I would reccomend it!

Vaseline Lip Therapy Pink Tin

This is just a quick post to let you know about this, I picked this up in my local Tesco for only £5 and I thought it was so cute I had to share. I think this was just in for Valentines day but there are a few tins knocking around in my local store so check it out! The tin is really cute and in hot pink and comes with 4 vaseline lip therapies inside, Cocoa Butter, Aloe Vera, Rosy Lips and Original.

This is missing the original blue pot because I've taken it out and lost it somewhere :)

Boots No 7 Hydration Mask

I bought Boots No 7 Hydration Mask recently as part of the No 7 3 for 2 Special offer at Boots, this is for Dry to Very Dry skin, it says to use this mask for 3 minutes and then to wipe off or for an intense treat apply for 10 minutes before wiping off, however I am using this as more of a night cream or just a base before I put my normal moisturiser on and not wiping off just because my skin really needs the moisture at the minute - it's so lovely and moisturising! My skin has gone really dry and flaky recently, I think because of going from warm-ish weather to absolutely freezing, it's playing havoc with my skin! So this really has been good for my skin, it's also hypo-allergenic so is good for sensitive skins! The only slight issue I have with this product is that when you pull the lid off, the pump attachment sometimes comes with it so if you do it with any force (which you have to sometimes to get the lid off) you can end up with product all over you, this has happened to me twice, once when trying the sample in Boots (quite embarassing!) and also with the one I purchased, so be careful with that if you get it! Other than that, I really love this and it's definitely become a bit of a staple in my cleansing routine.

Have you tried any of the Beautiful Skin range?

No 7 Beautiful Skin Range

I'm a big fan of winter, Love the cold weather and getting all wrapped up and going for walks in the park or a nice frosty morning when the sun is shining. My skin however, hates winter, it gets extremely dry and flaky and moisturiser just seams to be swallowed up as soon as I put it on with no effect, so I'm endlessly on the search for something that actually moisturises my skin properly and deeply so that I don't end up with flaking skin halfway through the day. I have been using Nivea moisturising cream, which I do love because it is quite thick, however, I find it has a bit of a tendency to just sit on the skin rather than getting in there and adding much needed moisture! So, while I was in Boots the other day I spotted No. 7s new Beautiful Skin range tailored for 3 different skin types - Dry/Very Dry, Normal/Dry and Oily/Normal - I bought three products from the Dry/Very Dry range to see if it can help my skin out, the products claim to give you beautiful skin in 2 weeks so we'll see, I went for the Cleansing Balm, the Day Cream and the Hydration Mask - I'll put reviews up of them individually later - But I have to say, I'm already impressed with the range.

Has anyone tried any of the other products in the range?

Benefit They're Real Mascara

My sister recently told me about Benefit's They're Real Mascara - this genuinely has to be one of the best mascara's I've ever used, and trust me, I have tried pretty much every mascara on the market. When I first opened it, I was slightly dubious as the brush was plastic and from past experience they don't always tend to work for me but it's brilliant! The packaging is nice and different, in a silver shiny bottle and the brush having shorter spikes means you can literally get from base to tip and really coat the lashes. It also has little spikes at the tip of the brush so you can coat the lower lashes and get into the fiddly little lashes on the inner corner of the eye! Whenever I wear this, which is quite often, I am always asked if I am wearing false lashes! Definitely a thumbs up from me for this product! Sorry about some of the shots being ridiculously blurry but my camera decided to break this morning!

Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl

I am a huge Soap and Glory fan (I swear by their hand food hand cream, will post a review on that later) so I recently decided to try their new makeup line, I decided to try their Smoulder Kohl Liner in Black (I have a bit of an eyeliner obsession) and I have mixed thoughts on it, I always used to wear Benefit BadGAL eyeliner, until it was replaced with the thinner pencil so have been on the lookout for my new go-to liner, the Soap & Glory pencil has a great colour, it's definitely a jet black and one of the darker black pencils on the market, initially it applies nicely and is very soft, great for flicks and the waterline, but when you go to re-sharpen, it just seems to be a bit of a nightmare, I initially used the handy sharpener that comes in the lid of the pencil, but I seemed to end up with eyeliner all over my hands as it's just not that easy to use which is a shame, and the product just came out half broken off and with scratchy bits around the base which is not pleasant when applying eyeliner on the eye waterline! So, I tried another sharpener and it came out with similar-ish results, I'm not sure if it's the material they have used for the pencil but it just doesn't seem to work, which is such a shame because the colour is really great! Having said that, as you can see, I do keep using this, I tend to now, line my eyes with another pencil and go over with the Smoulder Kohl pencil just to top up the colour!

(Sorry this one is a bit blurry but this is the Soap and Glory Kohl (the thicker darker line) next to Rimmels Kohl)

How have you got on with the Soap & Glory Kohl?

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

So, my first review is going to be about something that has been talked about alot in the beauty world and it's the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, I use 53 which is actually a little dark for my skin, I think i'd be better suited to a 51 or 52 for my skin colour, but it was purchased in a bit of a rush! I LOVE this foundation, I have a tendency to have quite sensitive skin and it can also be a bit dry (particuarly in cold weather) but this foundation doesn't irritate it at all and covers any imperfections perfectly. It says that it is a Matt foundation but I think it tends to leave a dewy kind of finish on my skin, which I prefer anyway. The bottle is also in an easy to use format, with a pump rather than trying to squirt foundation out everywhere. A little also goes along way, I apply about half a pump and then blend with a Ruby & Millie foundation brush, for a night out i'd maybe layer for a bit more coverage but for daytime, it works and is very natural looking!

Have you tried this foundation, does it work for you?

A little bit about me, I'm 24, love all beauty products and experimenting with different looks, the only thing I tend not to wearmy self is lipstick, but it's something I want to delve into more now that I have this blog, so keep your eyes peeled, would love your feedback! This blog will be mainly about makeup, nail varnish and haircare but I'm sure i'll delve into fashion and other bits and pieces as well! Hope you enjoy!
