NOTD: OPI Princesses Rule

Another quick NOTD post for you here, It feels like this blog is turning into a nail blog but I promise I have some more non nail posts lined up for this week, Anyway, I wanted to show you OPI's Princesses Rule, I absolutely love this nail polish, I remember finding it when I was looking for a neutral super pale pink, I spotted this and had to have it immediately, It wasn't what I was looking for but I just fell in love with it, it's a very sheer pale pink with the tiniest flecks of glitter running through it, it's so girly and pretty. My main use for this is, is I tend to do a white tip on the nail and then use this as the main polish as a bit of an alternative to a standard french polish, it gives the manicure a bit more of a fun factor but it's still subtle enough to wear for work.

What do you guys think?

p.s - Sorry about the messiness of the white tips, I was in a major rush doing these.

Birchbox February 2013

Hi Guys,

I'm doing a bit of a rushed post on this one because my latest Birchbox has just arrived and I want to get it up before I go away for the night! I subscribe to both Glossybox and Birchbox and haven't ever posted up my reviews of them before but I love reading other peoples so hopefully you guys like these kinds of posts. The theme for the box is London Fashion Week (which is a nice surprise as I assumed it would be a valentines theme!) There's also a nice mixture of products with some names I haven't heard of mixed in with some bigger brands like Korres and Vichy. Anyway, enough of my rambling, here's what I got in my box.

Vichy Thermal Spa Water - I'm pleasantly surprised with this, it's a small bottle (50ml) but that makes it easy to carry about, I have a couple of the Avene thermal water sprays and love using them in the summer.

Gerda Spillmann Bio-Fond Cream Make-Up - I think I would have liked this had it not been in shade 3 which is far to dark for me, but it's a nice little compact with a mirror (see picture below) and also another little compartment for a sponge, it's a shame about the colour because I've been after a little compact foundation like this for a while.

EBoost - I can't comment on this too much but I'm not a huge fan on energy drinks, I might give it a go at some point though.

Nick Chavez Plump n Thick Leave In Thickening Mist - I haven't heard of this brand before and the packaging for this is a little 80's but it looks like a product I'd try out so I'll let you know what I think once I've given it a go.

Korres Guava Little Shower Gel - This is a great little product, there's 50 ml in here so I'll probably save it and use to take away on holiday, it smells heavenly.

Birchbox Eyelash Curler - I was actually going to go and buy an eyelash curler tomorrow so I was really pleased to spot this in my box, Haven't put it to the test yet but it looks OK.

So, there we have it, that's everything, I'm fairly impressed, if the Cream Make-up had been the right colour for me, I would have been thrilled with it.

What do you guys think?

Valentine NOTD: OPI Pink Friday

I thought I'd post up a quick NOTD for Valentines, I've used OPI's Pink Friday from the Nicki Minaj collection which is a creamy pale pink, slightly bubblegum pink, it takes about 3 coats for full coverage and then used a singular little pink heart on my middle finger from a little set of nail art that I picked up in poundland of all places (review to come soon!) but I thought it was subtle yet appropriate for Valentines day!

Hope you like!

p.s The OPI polish was picked up in a Regis   for the bargain price of £4, I definitely recommend checking out their sales!

Nails Inc Motcomb Street & OPI Metallic 4 Life

Just a quick NOTD here but I used Nails Inc Motcomb Street, that came free with Glamour Magazine a month or so back and is a lovely deep almost black Navy Blue, this had great lasting power and I wore it alone for around 4 days before it started to chip. I'd had OPI's Metallic 4 Life (from the Nicki Minaj collection) for a while and hadn't used it so when the Motcomb street started to chip I thought Metallic 4 Life would look great over it, it's a slightly sheer black base with silver and black chunks of glitter running through it, I was massively impressed at the amount of glitter in one coat as well.

p.s I picked up my Metallic 4 Life from a Regis Salon for £4 so check them out occasionally because they do great sales!

Palmolive Bergamot & Verbena Hand Soap

I posted a while back about my love for Palmolive's Damask Rose & Musk Hand Soap that came in the lovely vintage shaped bottle and had the most subtle, beautiful rose scent, I ran out of it recently (I bought a huge stash of it when I originally found it but it's all gone!) and was quite devastated not to be able to find it anywhere, what I did find though was two of the other soaps that were in the same range, The first I'm going to talk about is the Bergamot & Verbena soap but they also do a Lavender & Chamomile one that I will post about soon.

So, the Bergamot & Verbena comes in the same lovely shaped bottle, definitely a vintage feel and has a pretty floral patter on the front. This particular one is a green liquid, which probably isn't my favourite colour for soap but it's not too bad and the prettiness of the bottle makes up for it, my brother was actually the one that picked this one out, and I guess it's got a slightly masculine scent, but very fresh and herbal smelling as well, and there's a hint of floral scent in there as well, Initially I wasn't keen but once you use it, it's actually lovely and lingers nicely on the skin after use. It's not a massively moisturising formula but it's also not drying at all either and leaves hands feeling super clean. You can also pick these up in a bar format and also as shower gels and again, they come in beautiful packaging with a vintage feel, these are all part of the Authentics (Savonniers since 1898) range that link back to the original glory days.

I picked mine up in Wilkinsons for a bargainous £1 each - but they usually retail at £1.99.

Have you guys tried this?
